Ingredients
- Ground beef – 1 lb (450 g)
- Breadcrumbs – 1/2 cup (60 g)
- Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- Worcestershire sauce – 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
- Beef broth – 1 cup (240 ml)
- Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon (2 g)
- Fresh parsley – 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
- Olive oil – 1 tablespoon (for sautéing)
- Salt – to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Mix until well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to the slow cooker.
- In the same skillet, add beef broth and scrape any browned bits. Bring to a simmer and pour over the meatballs in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until cooked through.
- Remove meatballs, drizzle with sauce, garnish with parsley, and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, warm in the microwave or stovetop.
- For freezing, place in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
