- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces fresh salmon, diced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 avocado, diced
- Nori sheets, cut into strips
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Combine the rice and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
- Once rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and mix with the vinegar mixture.
- Allow the rice to cool to room temperature.
- In a bowl, combine diced salmon and soy sauce.
- Wet your hands and take a small amount of rice, flatten it in your palm.
- Place a piece of salmon and avocado in the center and mold the rice around it into a ball.
- Wrap with a strip of nori and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Notes
- Use fresh sushi-grade salmon for best results.
- Adjust the amount of soy sauce according to your taste.
