Description

These pull-apart pretzel rolls are soft, chewy, and perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Divide the dough into small balls.
  7. Boil water with baking soda in a large pot.
  8. Drop each dough ball into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
  9. Place boiled rolls on a baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  10. Sprinkle coarse salt on top.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
