Description

Homemade Croissant Bread Loaf is a delicious baked good that combines the flaky texture of croissants with the shape and ease of a bread loaf.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle.
  5. Spread softened butter over the dough.
  6. Fold the dough into thirds, and then roll it out again.
  7. Repeat the folding and rolling process three times.
  8. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  9. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

  • For best results, use cold butter.
  • Let the dough rest in the fridge if it becomes too soft.
