Description

Homemade Butter Chicken is a rich and creamy dish made with tender chicken pieces cooked in a spiced tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in yogurt for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a pan, melt butter and sauté onions until soft.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and salt.
  5. Add marinated chicken and cook until no longer pink.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

  • Serve with rice or naan.
