Description

A creamy and flavorful dish featuring orzo pasta baked with caramelized onions and cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized.
  3. Cook orzo pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together cooked orzo, caramelized onions, vegetable broth, heavy cream, Gruyere cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
