Description

Delicious and rich Eggnog Gooey Butter Bars with a festive twist.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Add the eggs, powdered sugar, eggnog, nutmeg, and vanilla to the cream cheese and mix well.
  6. Pour the eggnog mixture over the cake layer.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the center is set.
  8. Let it cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Serve chilled or at room temperature.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and additional nutmeg if desired.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
