Description

A rich and creamy dark chocolate peppermint mousse tart with a crunchy crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter in a bowl.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a tart pan.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool.
  5. Melt dark chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler.
  6. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  7. Mix in peppermint extract and powdered sugar.
  8. Fold melted chocolate into the whipped cream.
  9. Pour the mousse into the cooled tart shell.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  11. Top with crushed peppermint candies before serving.
