Cinnamon Apple Breakfast Quinoa

Description

Healthy and nutritious breakfast option made with quinoa, apples, and cinnamon.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)

Instructions

  1. Rinse quinoa under cold water.
  2. In a pot, combine quinoa and water. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed.
  4. In a separate pan, sauté diced apples with cinnamon until tender.
  5. Fluff cooked quinoa with a fork and combine with sautéed apples.
  6. Add honey or maple syrup and mix well.
  7. Serve warm with almond milk and chopped walnuts on top.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Try adding other fruits or nuts as desired.
