Description

A hearty lasagna perfect for Christmas Eve dinner.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef and sausage over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the meat; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom.
  6. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  7. Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by one-third of the mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella.
  9. Top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
  10. Bake for 45 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

  • For a vegetarian option, omit meat and add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
