A flavorful and hearty black bean burger made with wholesome ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork.
  2. Add breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Serve on buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

  • Make sure to drain the beans well to avoid a soggy mixture.
  • You can add other spices to taste.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
