Ingredients

- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork.
- Add breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve on buns with your choice of toppings.
Notes
- Make sure to drain the beans well to avoid a soggy mixture.
- You can add other spices to taste.
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
