Description

Big Apple Fritters are delicious deep-fried pastries filled with sweet apples and cinnamon.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk egg and milk together.
  3. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Use tart apples for best flavor.
  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying.
