A rich and moist chocolate cake layered with creamy peanut butter frosting.
Ingredients

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat peanut butter and butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and heavy cream, beat until creamy and spreadable.
- Layer the cakes with frosting in between and on top.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be refrigerated for up to 5 days.
- Use a serrated knife to level the cakes if necessary.
