A delightful recipe for Slow Cooker Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns that combines rich flavors of caramel and crunchy pecans, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk, warmed to about 110°F (43°C)
- 1/4 cup (60 g) butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (100 g) chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup (240 ml) caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon-pecan mixture over the dough.
- Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
- Pour half of the caramel sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the cut buns on top and drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over them.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 2 to 3 hours, or until the buns are cooked through.
- Carefully remove the sticky buns from the slow cooker, let them cool for a few minutes, and drizzle with additional caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- To reheat, warm in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds.
- For freezing, wrap each bun tightly in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
