Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup sloppy joe sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cornbread mix
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion and bell pepper.
- Drain excess fat and stir in sloppy joe sauce.
- In a separate bowl, mix cornbread mix, egg, milk, and garlic powder.
- Spread the sloppy joe mixture in a greased casserole dish.
- Pour the cornbread batter over the sloppy joes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown.
- Sprinkle cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Notes
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
