Description

Shakshouka Breakfast Toast is a flavorful dish featuring poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce served on toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
  3. Add garlic, diced tomatoes, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Make two wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each well.
  6. Cover and cook until the eggs are set.
  7. Toast the bread.
  8. Serve the shakshouka over the toast and garnish with parsley.
