Description

A rich and moist Red Velvet Mocha Cake with a hint of coffee flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla, baking soda, and vinegar.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, then add cooled coffee.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool before frosting.
