Description

A creamy and flavorful cheese sauce made from cashews, perfect for nachos.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews, soaked
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric (for color)

Instructions

  1. Soak the cashews in water for at least 4 hours, then drain.
  2. In a blender, combine soaked cashews, nutritional yeast, water, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and turmeric.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve warm over nachos or store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños.
  • This sauce can be used as a dip or in recipes.
