A creamy and flavorful cheese sauce made from cashews, perfect for nachos.
Ingredients

- 1 cup raw cashews, soaked
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric (for color)
Instructions
- Soak the cashews in water for at least 4 hours, then drain.
- In a blender, combine soaked cashews, nutritional yeast, water, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and turmeric.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve warm over nachos or store in the refrigerator.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños.
- This sauce can be used as a dip or in recipes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
