Description
A delightful dish that combines sweet and savory flavors with tender salmon infused with a rich honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 1 cup brown rice (uncooked)
- 2 cups water (for cooking rice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 40-45 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides. Place the salmon fillets in the slow cooker, skin-side down.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once the salmon is cooked, carefully remove it from the slow cooker. Serve the salmon over a bed of brown rice. Drizzle some of the remaining sauce from the slow cooker over the top.
- Sprinkle the salmon bowls with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and visual appeal.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, use fresh ingredients.
- Marinating the salmon for 30 minutes before cooking can enhance the flavor.
