Description

A delightful dish that combines sweet and savory flavors with tender salmon infused with a rich honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1 cup brown rice (uncooked)
  • 2 cups water (for cooking rice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 40-45 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  3. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides. Place the salmon fillets in the slow cooker, skin-side down.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, carefully remove it from the slow cooker. Serve the salmon over a bed of brown rice. Drizzle some of the remaining sauce from the slow cooker over the top.
  7. Sprinkle the salmon bowls with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and visual appeal.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For best results, use fresh ingredients.
  • Marinating the salmon for 30 minutes before cooking can enhance the flavor.
