Description

A creamy and rich homemade eggnog pudding perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine milk, eggnog, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat.
  2. Whisk until mixture thickens and starts to boil.
  3. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add a small amount of the hot mixture to the yolks, whisking constantly.
  4. Pour the egg yolk mixture back into the saucepan and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, nutmeg, and butter.
  6. Pour the pudding into serving dishes and let cool.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Garnish with whipped cream and additional nutmeg if desired.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
