A creamy and rich homemade eggnog pudding perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients

- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine milk, eggnog, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat.
- Whisk until mixture thickens and starts to boil.
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add a small amount of the hot mixture to the yolks, whisking constantly.
- Pour the egg yolk mixture back into the saucepan and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, nutmeg, and butter.
- Pour the pudding into serving dishes and let cool.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Garnish with whipped cream and additional nutmeg if desired.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
