- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 3 cups apples, peeled and diced

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cold water until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- In another bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into circles.
- Place a spoonful of apple filling on one half of each circle.
- Fold the dough over and seal the edges with a fork.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry pies until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Notes
- Use tart apples for better flavor.
- Adjust sugar based on apple sweetness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
