Description

A delightful and easy-to-make breakfast bread featuring rich, nutty flavors and sweet hints of dates, perfect for cozy mornings or special brunches.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond milk and honey until the honey is fully dissolved.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped dates and sliced almonds.
  5. Grease the inside of your crockpot with a little oil or cooking spray.
  6. Transfer the batter into the prepared crockpot, spreading it evenly.
  7. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for about 3 to 4 hours, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  • For gluten-free, use a gluten-free flour blend.
  • Replace honey with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • Use coconut or soy milk instead of almond milk.
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans can replace sliced almonds.
