Delicious Christmas Cherry Bars that are sweet and festive.
Ingredients

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined.
- Spread half of the dough in a greased baking pan.
- Evenly spread the cherry pie filling over the dough.
- Drop the remaining dough in small pieces over the cherry filling.
- Sprinkle walnuts on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Store bars in an airtight container.
- These bars freeze well for later enjoyment.
- Substitute almonds for walnuts if preferred.
