  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brisket by trimming excess fat.
  2. Season the meat with a mixture of brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt.
  3. Sauté the sliced onion in a skillet until softened, then add minced garlic.
  4. Combine BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and water in a bowl.
  5. Layer the sautéed onion and garlic in the slow cooker, place the brisket on top, and pour the BBQ sauce mixture over it.
  6. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until tender.
  7. Let the brisket rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing against the grain.
